Sorry We're Closed

Updated: Oct 28

isolationism /ī″sə-lā′shə-nĭz″əm/

The doctrine or policy of minimal participation by one's country in international economic and political relations, specifically by not entering into alliances or other international agreements, in order to avoid becoming entangled in foreign wars, and to be able to devote the nation's energies primarily to advancing its own domestic interests.

All four presidents on Mt. Rushmore were protectionists. The greatest era of industrial expansion in America, where our workers saw the greatest rise in their standard of living was from 1860-1914, when America protected her industries and jobs behind a tariff wall.

America is in decline. We have huge trade deficits along with falling wages coupled with urban and social decay and that decline won’t end until Americans stop thinking of themselves as global citizens and start putting America first.

The trade deficts in this country are a major problem. A trade deficit occurs when we import more then we export and it has a tremendous impact on U.S. production, jobs and national security. We can produce almost anything in this country that we need, especially 80% of the junk on the shelves of Walmart  that come from China and Southeast Asia. If we can’t make a Donald Trump bubble head in this country were up the creek. I really think we need to pump the brakes and start manufacturing more of what we need. America first. We need to send a message to companies like Ford, General Motors and General Electric by putting large tariffs on their products maid in Mexico  and force them to bring that production back into the states.

Another thing that was troubling to me was when Major League Baseball announced a partnership with German workwear company STRAUSS, which includes MLB batting helmets displaying the STRAUSS name and logo throughout the playoffs for the next four seasons. I guess Rob Manfred, the Major League Baseball Commissioner, never heard of an American company by the name of Rawlings.

How about taking that 175 billion we gave to Ukraine and putting it back into Social Security which they predict will go belly up in the near future. America First.

Should the American people continue to engage with the rest of the world or turn our interests to the strugles of America and it’s citizens, of which there are many because the people we send to Washington D.C. are failing us miserably.

We need to hang up that sign “Sorry We’re Closed”.
